The so called "Cold War" was an exclusive geopolitical game of the two superpowers concerned in the playing. In the ideological battle between capitalism and communism the two nations involved create two fronlines for the case of confrontation. The Warsaw Pact was founded by USSR and NATO was founded and funded by US. The United States was fighting their capitalist ideology not in their territory but across the Atlantic sea.

So when the Cold War ended in 1989 the two institutions supose to expired and delete all past tensions and conflicts for the purpose of peace on Earth. The logical deconstruction of this two institutions supose to happen not to sparkle any mistake and to avoid any cause for fear. But NATO didnt expired.

The Warsaw Pact dissolve, but NATO didnt leave the building. Taking advantage of the weakness of the other superpower (or of the vacum left by the other) the US claimed to be the "winners of the Cold War" so they reserved the right to keep the institution, not only intact, but to make it bigger and dangerous. They played politics as if they would play poker in a casino. As the only superpower left in the stage US thought to play a unipolar politics with the pretenssion to "reorder" the world order. From then on they start to flex their muscle and display their power in the political showcase.

The Europeans, in particular Germany, rather than create their own regional security institution were too lax to let NATO survive and reinvent itself. I supose that the Germans where overwhelmingly pressed and confused by guilty feelings of the past that even they let their territory as a US courtyard for an eventual nuclear battlefield in the cold war. US were using and abusing their power with Germany submission.

Today NATO, a relic of the post-Cold War, has becomen the cornerstone and spearhead for US global domination, and it is expanding dangerously to the borders of the actual Russia. NATO is been used as a political tool to promote ”free market” and “democracy” in East Europe, putting the Russians under pressure and with the hands up against the wall. NATO is a US baby and they wanted to keep it and used as a bargaing cheap not only for the Europeans, but to the world.

NATO is nothing else than the long arm of US in Europe. When Us cannot go along in their imperial adventure they will use their associates in NATO to work together and share the benefits of captured resourcess in the world (a legal organised thugs or as legal mafia clan). The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is a very tricky organization as the other organizations created by US after the WW2 (UNO, World Bank, IMF, WTO, etc.) in their imperial aspiration. NATO represents the trademark of US imperial proxy wars.

After the Cold War, many countries in the world reduce their military build up and trades, but not the United States. The United States kept intact their arsenals at the level of the Cold War.

NATO, was an American concept and they wanted to kept the influence in European territories as a geopolitical strategy and also kept the command for other possible conflicts near by, or around the world. So when the conflict in the Balkans explodes (Bosnia and Kosovo) they wanted to show their military abilities in the post Cold War to get rid of old military material and also to test new weaponry.

The NATO as the ONU are institutions that have been strongly criticized. This institutions always failed to the pressure of USA It seems that they exist to favour the policy of USA. The contribution of the ONU to disarm Saddam Hussein through the tricky declarations of Blix and Al-Baradei had favoured the disarmament of Iraq to prepare the American strike.

During the so called the “Cold War” there was much military build up, military spending and arms trade from the two confronted superpowers and the spending and trade was very high. This was the time that fears and panic were dominating the minds of the people of the world and above all of the German people who were embroiled in this ideological war between “communism” and “capitalism”.

The German territory was used as a buffer zone (or cushion) against the Soviet threat, but for the sake of the Americans whose territory were thousand of kilometres away, in the other side of the Atlantic. The paranoid idea was that Germany will be invaded by the Soviet Union. Anyway, this confrontation of this two superpowers and ideologies were providing the allies of the Third World with much military aid to fight their war abroad. So when the Cold War finish, in which spending was too high for the Soviet Union, they were broke or bankrupt.

Overstretching was too expensive for the Soviets Union. They were expending to much of the public budget and that is why it takes them longer to recover economically. The economical expending for the Soviet’s had nothing to do with ideological problems of “communism” or “capitalism” but just was a question of economic administration. They were not actually defeated as the Americans claim. The Soviets just retreat from the war game that was becoming to expensive and dangerous. The aggressive pressure of the US pushed everything to the limits risking even a nuclear war.

America, after Hiroshima and Nagasaki, shows how resolute and cold blooded can be; and even today the US can be seeing as the most dangerous country in the world.

Many nations around the world today possess weapons of mass destruction. They may be nuclear, chemical, biological or other types of weapons, which can be delivered through a variety of means.

Why they possess this nuclear, chemical and biological weapons? because of fear of attack from some other nation? I don’t believe. Because of paranoid? Is possible. To keep the business of weapons going? Very probable. Or is it mainly because without this arsenals cannot impress the weaker nations and exploit them? (this is also very probable) In any of the cases we don’t need them. It is mainly the more powerful wealthy countries that have such weapons and that means prestige.

The most grotesque is that in the American administration rethoric is to secure peace and stability in the world. What a flagrant lie. This is an arms race and is increasing insecurity and instability. As the more powerful countries show less commitment to reduce their own arms substantially, and continue to pursue their own "national interests", they affect many other nation around the world.

My question was always: for what this rich nations are accumulating and monopolizing power through this monumental arsenal of weaponry material? Are they intending or preparing to exterminate people massively as if they would spray DDT into a swarm of mosquitoes or cucarachas? It´s not to believe!

Nato today is been integrated of most western countries dividing clearly the hemisphere North from the South or West from the East. Are they especting to fight the world in a unity of aliated group?

The world must be a weapons free-zone. The people need freedom and to have freedom they must be free of oppression, domination and explotation of the western imperialism in particularly the United States of America. In recent years, there have been a lot of movements and treaties to help control the flow and deployment of arms. There are organized civil groups and peace movements against this mass murder machinery. There is, also, a conscious international public opinion against any kind of war. Also we have peace organizations (NGO´s) as Human Rights, Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Friends of Earth, etc., that are focusing on peace activism and other important social issues in the world.
